Sacred Arts

Liturgical art is a visual aid for worship designed to be an integral part of liturgy and worship. It is made, used, and offered within an atmosphere of prayer helping the viewer and the artist into an authentic experience of worship.
Grace Church promotes the arts through music, dance, and visual art experiences.

Liturgical Dance

Young people (2nd grade through 7th) are invited to take dance classes with Judy Burwell. Judy is the founder and former artistic director of the National Ballet of Honduras, the Grace Church Liturgical Dance Company, and a member of the Sacred Dance Guild.

During weekly rehearsals the children will work on dance technique and are taught dances. The company performs at churches in Nutley and in nearby towns. Classes are once a week after school at the church. Call the church office for more information.

Sacred Visual Arts

The Sacred Visual Arts Program for children, teens and adults is a visual arts program which helps us to experience God through the creation of things that can then adorn our homes. We celebrate the gift of creativity on Sunday mornings after the 10am service.  While exploring various art media, participants deepen their connection to the unspoken Word and the liturgical seasons of the Church Year. This class is taught by Debra M. Cook, a multimedia artist and professional teacher
We also  have an annual art show of parishioners' art.
