About Episcopal Services

This page is intended to help visitors and newcomers to know what to expect during worship. First of all, we look forward to you joining us in worship, and please introduce yourself to one of the clergy after the service. Upon arrival, an usher will give you a service bulletin listing the order of service (listing the page numbers for the prayers and songs we will sing), and a special service guide, if requested. Children are welcome in services, or you may like to bring your young child to the nursery. We encourage you to participate in worship. At Grace Church you will find in the pews three books: The Book of Common Prayer (BCP), the Bible, & the Hymnal 1982.

As Episcopalians, we are followers of Jesus Christ, our Lord, and we believe in the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The Episcopal Church has members in the United States, as well as in other parts of the world. The Episcopal Church is part of the worldwide Anglican Communion, and traces its heritage to the beginnings of Christianity. Our liturgy retains ancient structure and traditions and is celebrated in many languages. You can learn more about the Episcopal Church through this link.

Grace Church in Nutley is a member of the Diocese of Newark and District 7. Our Bishop is the Rt. Rev. Mark Beckwith. You can learn more about the Episcopal Church USA and the Diocese of Newark.
